Not many people know this but Christopher Columbus is actually Italian!
Cristofero Colombo was an Italian explorer who was looking for the passage to China.
While sailing the high seas, he ended up discovering the Americas! He landed on an island that we now called today: Cuba!
Remember this little poem:
In 1492, Colombus sailed the ocean blue!
